- Hubby had 2 brothers. Hubby is the youngest.
- First and oldest one is M. M was 4 years older than I am.
- Second brother is Steve. He is 2 years older than hubby.
- First brother shot himself in the head when he was 27. Hubby was just 13 at the time.
- First brother had a wife and divorced well before he shot himself.
- Second brother died in August of liver failure at the age of 27 as well. Hubby is now 25 years old.
- Second brother was married at the time of his death and said widow has no where to turn.
- Second brother had the following before he died:
- A new home that was being built 35 minutes away from our home
- A brand new truck that had a powerstroke in it with an extended bed and cab - $50K
- 2 student loans; one for him and one for sis in law
- An RV
- 2 additional cars
- A 4-Wheeler
After second brother died, sister in law was left with loans, loans and more loans not to mention the cost of all the extras that a death leaves behind.

Wow, 27 is such a young age to go. That's so sad. Was your hubby close to his brothers? My ex boyfriend's sister killed herself when he was 12 and she was 14. Even now, 15 years and at least 3 suicide attempts of his own later, he still has not recovered.
This is going to sound awful but hubby is not exactly "intilectual" if you catch my drift. His oldest brother was 14 years older I believe than hubby was and he looked to M as an idle. M could fix any car, rebild an engine, had a huge jacked up truck that we now own and a Harley that the second brother owned. Testoterone was not an issue with M. He was every man's man.
Now Steve on the other hand had his own company and finished college. Steve was stupid smart and hubby felt inadequate next to him. I always told him that he was talented in ways that Steve could never be. Hubby is 6'4" and weighs well over 240 pounds. Steve was a medium build and stayed in the house all the time to work.
Now that both boys are gone, hubby keeps saying that he is the only one left. If you've ever seen the movie "Walk the Line" about Jonny Cash's career, the first scene has to do with when he was a little boy and his brother died from a lumber accident. The dad had said that God took the wrong son. I cried when I saw that part because that is exactly what hubby is having to go through with his family now.
